Facebook Profile Taken Down

For those who have been looking for me on Facebook, they took my account down due to a misunderstanding over an old post. (In summary, I posted to warn friends of a scam in 2022 and did so after confirming it with the company and some one from their company reported my post 30+ times to FB for some sort of copyright or trademark infringement, because, I guess, my post had their URL in it. I’m wondering if a bot did this instead of a human because my post simply warned people that if they saw an offer for a lifetime subscription to a specific service, that I have confirmed it was a scam. I even have backup with a conversation trail via Twitter DM where I asked this company if the offer was legit. They told me it was a scam and thanked me for flagging it to them, so I did a good Samaritan thing and warned my author friends on FB.

I’ve contacted that company to ask them to retract their complaint. If this doesn’t work, I’ll have to start over.

Yep – a pretty rough week having a book banned AND losing my Facebook profile.

I still have my DD’s Chickadees group (thankfully I had a backup admin account) but have lost access to other groups and pages I managed. Thankfully, I have access to my DD Prince page.

But… I’ve lost 5000 friends, hundreds of groups, and eight years of content, which hurts and sucks royally.

As a gentle reminder, if things happen on social media platforms out of my control, I do have a newsletter and this website as a place to update you so if me or my work disappear from places you frequent, I’ll endeavour to update here on this site and via my newsletter, which you can subscribe to.

Thank you!
