I did an online party this week on Dark Angels, a FB reader’s group I’m a member of, and did some Q&A from readers and one of the group admins asked me if we’d ever get more Tristan. I’ve been thinking about Tristan non-stop ever since.
When I wrote Nectar, book one, I planned to write all three books from Kyla’s POV and then after they were out, I’d give you Tristan’s POV in his own book. But that idea got put aside when I wrote Essence, which wound up with the first half of the story from Tristan’s perspective. I never planned it but my stories often go their own way — I’m just along for the ride.
Because of how it went, Tristan’s POV got put on the backburner. But I’d already written a chapter, while writing Ambrosia.
A few people wanted more from T&K — felt Essence ended too abruptly. I figured you’d get some more when I wrote Sam’s book, Kyle’s book, Rebecca’s book. But with some feedback and now that the story has been coming to me and I’ve seen some glimpses into Tristan & Kyla’s post-Essence life I figured it could be a good thing to write Black & Blue. I’ll finish Tristan’s POV from book one (and maybe book two) and then use the novella to give you MORE epilogue and to create a bridge between the Nectar trilogy and the next series — Elixir, which will tell stories of some of the other characters.
So, sometime in 2018 I expect to bring you Black & Blue.
