If you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription, you can read many of DD’s books for free.
If you don’t have a subscription, you can try this out for a month with no long-term commitment (if you don’t want to keep it, you just have to cancel. Amazon makes it super-easy to cancel). Many voracious readers LOVE KU. Not only are many of your favourite authors available in this program, but it’s a great way to discover new authors.

Do authors get paid if I read their books in KU?
Yes! There’s an Amazon payout pool that’s split among authors in the program. We get paid a fee per page read. For example, .004/page means a 400 page book results in the author getting $1.60
Yes, this is less than a typical ebook royalty, but authors are in the program voluntarily so no one is forcing them to list their books there. We have an opportunity to reach more readers this way, those on fixed book budgets or those who prefer KU so that they can discover authors they aren’t already reading without the commitment of buying a book. A few of my box sets have such high page counts that a KU borrow pays me more than an ebook sale. Don’t feel guilty for reading in KU.
Some who love an author’s books will read in KU and then buy it so that they can keep it as well as support the author through both payment programs. The choice is yours. In my opinion, the only choice that’s a bad choice here is book piracy.
Do authors get paid each time I re-read a book?
No. We get paid the first time only.
Do I get to keep the book?
Technically, you can ‘hang onto’ it as long as you have your KU subscription. If you return it to get another book and the author no longer has it in the program, you won’t be able to get it back without purchasing. You can borrow up to 10 books at a time in this program. If you return a book and want to borrow it again at a later time, you may do so but only if the author continues to have that book enrolled in KU. Authors enroll for 90 days at a time.
Is it difficult to cancel my subscription?
No. Amazon makes it easy to cancel at any time.

Visit the pinned post at ddprince.com. I do my best to keep that page up to date regarding where books can be obtained. This could change based on market conditions. If books are not in KU, they’re sold widely through all retailers. I may periodically change which books can be purchased wide and which are Amazon/ KU exclusives.
