New Nectar Trilogy Covers

I’ve been wanting to re-do the Nectar covers for a long time.

As much as I liked the original covers, and felt they fit the stories (the dewy rose petal for book one, the parchment paper for book two — getting into the destiny of these two characters, and the blurry kaleidoscope of colours Kyla saw for Essence, I know these covers were not good for ‘marketing’. People stumbling across them wouldn’t get a sense of what these books were about, by the titles, by the images, etc.

The new book covers speak to me and I hope they speak to fans, too.

As mentioned on my social media pages, I’m pulling these books out of Kindle Unlimited as an experiment.

Don’t get me wrong… I love the KU program for authors. I’ve earned more royalties via this program than I have from book sales, and I believe in this program for new authors as a way to get found by people looking for books in their genre. But… as book one is almost three years old, I don’t get a whole lot of KU earnings for this series nowadays, as the program works best for new releases or series that are incomplete as you can attract new fans as new books are added to your series.

Going “wide” to retailers like iBooks, and doing so with fresh covers might not only help me attract new fans from the non-Kindle world, but those new covers and a surge of new attention could also bring me fresh Kindle readers who bypassed the books with the old covers, too.

What else is happening with me?

I’m working on two books right now (A Scarlett Starkleigh book & a surprise), while also cleaning up the Nectar trilogy books for their re-release.

Stay tuned.

Thanks, as always, for those who’ve supported this dark and taboo story.

I also have plans to write Tristan’s Black & Blue novella in a few months as well and that will hopefully spark inspiration for Sam Jasper’s story, which will be the start of my Elixir series, the spin-off from the Nectar trilogy.

Paperback updates:

I’ve been remiss in getting paperbacks published for Ambrosia & Essence. Long story, but to summarize, I wasn’t happy with the way Nectar turned out in paperback and hired someone to do paperback covers for the other two books and I was even less happy with those. I do all my own covers, thus far, but my skill level is beginner, at best, so I need some help for the book spines and sizing requirements for Createspace, my paperback printer.

I’m on the hunt and trying someone new out now & if all goes well, the paperbacks for all three books will be out in April. If that talent is as good as I’m hoping, I’ll commission him to help me get my other 7 books on paperback, including improving the covers of Dominator books 1 & 2 (Truth or Dare), which are currently out in paperback. Once I find the right help, it will mean that new releases have paperbacks releasing at the same time as the e-books.

TTFN,

XO
